I have a small cleaning business and want to know how to advertise my company with either web ads or with a website of my own. Any specific sites or companies you'd suggest?

I suggest that you create a website. You can target people in your area. There are web hosts that will host your site and help you to design a website around your business for a low annual fee. It can cost thousands of dollars to pay someone to build a website and promote it for you. I chose a web host that has cost me less than $1 per day. They offered a step by step program on the proper way to build a website that will get targeted traffic.

They are the best ways to start with. You can place your for days together. You don't need a website or any thing. Just a small 4 or 5 lines text ads would do it.
If you want your ad to appear on top of all, you may have to pay a little.
Try "free classifieds ……………" (fill it with your country) in Google search. You will get a big list.
